Why Choose a Natural Pool?
Natural swimming pools use a bio-mechanical filtration system designed to create an organic, healthy, and sustainable swimming environment.
Using permaculture methods, natural pools use only organic processes and bio-filters to give you clear pure, and safe chlorine-free and chemical-free water; leaving less waste, and less harm to your health and the environment.
At the same time you enjoy your natural pool you are improving your health, and contributing to the natural ecosystem and wildlife habitat.
Studies show that even in small amounts, exposure to chlorine in swimming pools is harmful, especially to children.
The good news is there is a proven, natural alternative to chlorinated pools.
Natural vs Salt
It’s a common misconception that salt pools are natural pools. The only difference between a salt pool and a chlorinated swimming pool is in the process. A salt pool is a self-chlorinating pool. While chlorinated pools rely on direct infusion of chlorine, salt pools use chlorine generators to separate salt, through electrolysis, into sodium and chlorine. The sodium is discarded and the chlorine is used for the pool.
The good news is there is a proven, natural alternative to chlorinated pools.
Natural swimming pools, on the other hand, use only natural processes and bio-filters to give you clear and pure, chlorine- and chemical-free water, leaving less waste, less energy consumption, and less harm to your health and the environment.

Natural Pool Basics
Regeneration Zone: Water is pumped through the biofilter, where our unique filter media and friendly bacteria work together to remove organic nutrients from the water. This prevents algae and nasty bacteria from being able to grow by starving them of the essential nutrients they require. It is separated from the swimming area either by separation walls (as seen in top photo) or detached in the form of an independent water garden.
Swimming Zone: Provides a unique swimming experience that blends with the natural environment. The same goals can be accomplished with a concrete based pool as with a liner, depending on the design and building conditions.
Circulation System: Circulation system is engineered to filter the water by drawing it through the plants and the biofilter and maximizing the nitrification process. It is specifically designed for high efficiency.
